Idaho Equine properties

Idaho and Horse property go hand in hand. Idaho is a great place to raise and ride

horses.  Consider that land is still very inexpensive in Idaho. Why you might ask? because, there is lots of land and small population in Idaho.  There are many different types of riding styles available in Idaho. We have trails that are very close to our largest cities. Take Boise or Eagle for instance. The Boise foothills are just minutes away from town and are accessible to horse back riders. Or one can head south about 1 hour of Boise and enjoy riding in the  arid desert of the Owyhee mountains where canyons and the snake river offer exciting riding with petroglyphs and lots of native american history and remnants of the oregon trail can be viewed.  Head north into the Sawtooth or white cloud mountain ranges for back country scenery that is hard to imagine. The beauty of either landscape is breath taking.

Idaho also offers many activities for the arena rider. we have lots of rodeo sports locally. and we have a thriving english community for the equestrian with that type of riding in mind. We have riding for the trail rider, lots of indoor arena’s for virtually every type of equestrian sport. There are great services available to horsemen and women in our area. We have one of the largest equine verterinary hospitals in the north west right in the center of the treasure valley. Idaho raises some of the best hay in the country, right here locally. Boise has Les Bois race track that offers exciting thoroughbred  racing during the summer.

South of Boise in the Owyhee moutnains and north of Boise and Eagle are great Endurance riding/conditioning areas where there are thousand of acres and miles of trails for those long conditioning rides. It is possible to buy land with BLM adjacent to it still within 1 hour of Boise so you can saddle up and ride right form your own back yard.
