Fall in Idaho? The best season ever!

I can hardly wait for all of the Fall outdoor activities. Outdoor recreation in Idaho in the Fall is outstanding. Steelhead fishing starts, all of the hunting seasons begin, and the weather starts to cool down. There is almost nowhere in the world more beautiful than Idaho back country when all of the trees start to turn and the weather starts to change. My favorite loop to take a drive is to leave Eagle, head up  HWY 55 towards Cascade and McCall. Take a fishing rod along. I make a quick stop in Cascade and drop a line for a perch or large trout cruising the banks. Then possibly head to McCall, grab a quick lunch some where and then its tough to decide maybe head up towards Warren for some small trout fishing or grouse hunting. Or head towards New meadows for any number of hiking trails or fishing streams. Once I get to New Meadows, I decide if its time to head for the Salmon river in Riggins going north on HWY 95, or head south on 95 and find some more fishing. Possibly little lost lake, or the little Weiser river. Or a number of other less know small streams that offer hunting and fishing possibilities. Once you head south then council and Cambridge offer even more opportunities to fish. Oh man then down towards Cambridge you could head west to Brownlee reservoir and more fishing. Or head farther south to Weiser and then Payette for some cat fishing on The snake river. Or bass fishing on the Snake or Payette rivers. Then jump on Hwy 52, head towards Emmett which takes me to HWY 16 and back to my home in Eagle. Which is just 6 miles from Boise. Yes its a bit of a drive, and really you should take a week to see all of that spectacular country. But I have done it many times in one day. Now I ask you where in the world can you do that little trip in one day and see that much gorgeous country, and be home in time to have dinner with the family? No where I know of other than the great state of Idaho. Need help finding your dream home in Idaho? look no further than me, an Idaho native who knows the country and the Cities. Gosh that’s just going north, then there is a great day trip going south…….
